TOP THREE – As “promised,” Highspeed focuses on the top three young loveteams of Star Cinema and ABS-CBN, the Kapamilya studio.
They are, of course:
KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil), JaDine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre).
All have proven their bankability onscreen, both big and small.

FINE ACTORS – Of the three loveteams, Daniel and Kathryn are the finest actors. Only in their early 20s, KathNiel have shown time and again their depth and sensitivity, especially in “Barcelona: A Love Untold,” shown last year.
They have a film currently showing, “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
Daniel comes from a showbiz clan tested for its acting and singing ability. Think of Robin, Zsa Zsa, Gino. His dad is character actor Rommel. The late Rudy Fernandez is a Padilla on the mother side. His mother, Karla Estrada, is a competent singer and actress.
Kathryn started as a child star with GMA, the young Marian Rivera in a Korean telenovela.
In no time, KathNiel will win acting awards.

PHOTOGENIC – Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil are very photogenic. The camera loves their mestizo/mestiza features: Liza American and Enrique Spanish.
Liza is the more sensitive performer, while Enrique’s acting needs more polishing. But let it be said that Enrique isn’t a bad actor. He was good in “Maalaala Mo Kaya” years back, as the young Juan Ponce Enrile.
Of course, they are real-life sweethearts…and it shows in their screen chemistry.
Wanted: More challenging roles for LizQuen, be they movies or TV.

‘PROBLEMATIC’ – There are no movie or TV projects for JaDine, who are really Viva artists but have contracts with the Kapamilya studio.
Heard they are “problematic” – perhaps not really James Reid and Nadine Lustre but people around them. These days they are busy feuding in social media with a US-based concert promoter.
Of course, James is much prettier than Nadine. But that’s not a problem. Perhaps JaDine could resolve from now on to be more cooperative with colleagues and co-workers.
So how about a project for JaDine asap, a real good one, suited to their personalities?
