Six groups of policemen, who had proven to court the guilt of arrested drug suspects, received P100,000 each from the local government of Valenzuela since the “Reward System in Drug Cases Ordinance” was implemented.
As of yesterday, 57 policemen who worked hard in apprehending and convicting six drug personalities have received the reward.
The team members who took part in the operation but have no part in the court hearing received 30 percent of the reward. Meanwhile, 70 percent of the reward was given to the members who participated in the operation and became part of the court proceedings. The money was divided equally with team members.
The rewards committee is composed of the mayor or his representative, chief of police, executive judge, city prosecutor, the city budget officer, and two support staff from the Valenzuela Anti-Drug Abuse Council (VADAC).
