The sexiest figures and model queen dreamers will compete at the Top Model of the World Philippines 2017 contest which will be held at the Resorts World Theater in Pasay City on May 12.
Caroline De Venecia, president of TMWP, announced that Filipino communities overseas are expected to field participants among their accredited overseas-partner organizations.
“It has secured the cooperation of key pageant organizers among the overseas Filipino communities from the United States, Europe, and Asia to select deserving delegates to represent the Philippines in international competitions,” said De Venecia.
Slimmers World International Philippines (SWI) has signed a partnership agreement as cooperator for the joint launch of TPWP 2017.
“This mutual partnership sets the go-signal to launch the TMWP 2017 with Miss Bikini Philippines 2017 in Metro Manila,” said De Venecia.
She added: “This promotes cooperation among similarly situation event organizations with tourism orientation, promoting fashion and beauty of the Filipina.”
“The search and screening has started in various cities and regions of the Philippines,” said Miss Shyla Marquez, Marketing Manager of SWI.
The TMWP started in 2006 with a vision to recognize modern Filipinas for their exquisite allure, intelligence, confidence and determination.
Some of this year’s candidates are Natalie Lane, representing the Filipino Community of Western Australia; Nicole Watts, Filipino Community of Sydney; and Jade Lindsay. Filipino Community of Melbourne.
All the contestants of TMWP will be presented during press presentation in Manila on Tuesday, May 9.
Since the contest was created, the Philippines highest honor was first runner-up won by Michelle de Leon in Kunming City in China in 2008.
De Leon later assumed the title from Natalia Guimaraes of Brazil who later gave up her crown.
Last year, the finals of Top Model of the World-Philippines was staged in Melbourne, Australia. It was managed by Face Australia Promotions management, the partner organization of TMWP in Australia.
Natalia Lalonde who represented the Filipino Communities of Southern California won the Top Model of the World Philippines 2016 contest. First runner-up honors went to Kelly Mcilroy, Filipino communities of Toronto; and Abigail Grisby, 2nd runner-up, representing Victoria. (Robert R. Requintina)
