KAPUSO TOP STARS – Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado right away home to mind when speaking of the Kapuso top stars (GMA, of course).
They’ve proved time and again their drawing power.
Who come next after them?
Lovi Poe and Rocco Nacino, Carla Abella and Tom Rodriguez, Rhian Ramos and Rafael Rossel. Aljur Abrenica would have been included, but GMA didn’t renew his contract. Also Kylie Padilla, but then she’s out of the limelight due to pregnancy. Aljur’s the father…as if you didn’t know.
Must also mention Glaiza de Castro, Kris Bernal, Regine Velasquez, Mark Herras, Megan Young, Sunshine Dizon, Heart Evangelista.
By the way, is Geoff Eigenmann no longer a Kapuso? He used to be one of GMA’s reliable leading men.

SUPPORT – The Kapuso channel has an array of versatile actors playing support to the top stars.
As they come to mind:
Gabby Eigenmann, Dion Ignacio, Jackie Rice, Christian Bautista, Vaness del Moral, LJ Reyes, Angelika de la Cruz, Ryza Cenon, Mikael Daez, Lauren Young, Katrina Halili. Come to think of it, the just-mentioned stars play lead roles every now and then.
In this regard, special mention goes to Miss Gloria Romero, Jaclyn Jose, Jackie Lou Blanco, Kuh Ledesma, Gabby Concepcion.

MISSING GMA FILMS – This columnist misses movies produced by GMA Films.
Years back. The likes of Marilou Diaz Abaya’s “Jose Rizal,” “Muro Ami,” and “Sa Pusod ng Dagat.” Joel Lamangan’s “Deathrow.” Those romantic films directed by Mac Alejandre and topbilled by Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin.
Hopefully, GMA Films will be active in the future – near and not far.
