Sen. Alan Peter S. Cayetano said yesterday that the government is drafting the next Philippine Human Rights Action Plan for the next five years to mainstream its human rights agenda.
Cayetano, speaking during the third cycle of the Universal Periodic Review of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland last May 8, said the plan, last crafted in 2012 under the Aquino administration, is in line with the Duterte administration’s commitment to uphold the rule of law and protect Filipinos human rights.
He said the plan will adopt “a culture-sensitive perspective, gender- sensitive paradigm, and human rights-based approach in public service.” (Hannah L. Torregoza)
