A 58-year-old man killed his live-in partner and her alleged lover after he caught them having sex in their house yesterday in Quezon City.
Police identified the suspect as Bernardo Tolitol.
Investigation showed that Tolitol, a farmer, went home to Bubon, Northern Samar in October 2016 to plant rice and has been there since.
The suspect left his live in partner Marilou Bulat-ag, 41, a volunteer watchman or barangay tanod, with their two children in Barangay Commonwealth.
Tolitol went home yesterday morning and saw Bulat-ag and her lover 27-year-old Junie Gulas Jr. having sex on their bed.
Police said the suspect confronted the two and Gulas responded by punching Tolitol on the face. Gulas also reportedly attempted to stab the suspect with a scissor.
Tolitol was able to grab the scissor from Gulas and stabbed him several times. Gulas slumped on the floor while Tolitol chased Bulat-ag and also knifed her to death.
Both victims died on the spot, police said.
Tolitol, after the incident, immediately turned himself in to barangay authorities. He surrendered a blood-stained scissor to police.
The suspect admitted killling the victims.
The suspect is now detained at the Quezon City Police District headquarters in Camp Karingal. Appropriate charges await the suspect. (Vanne Elaine P. Terrazola)
