New Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson is planning to use social media to bring the Duterte government closer to the people and curb the spread of fake news about the administration.
Uson gave a preview of her work at the Palace communications office, a day after taking her oath before Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea in Malacañang.
At ma-idiretso ang TAMANG BALITA sa ating kababayan sa pamamagitan ng SOCIAL MEDIA,” she said in a Facebook post.
DAHIL TAYO ANG MEDIA NI TATAY DIGONG,” she said.
The President recently tapped Uson to join the Palace communications office following her stint as member of the Movie, Television Review and Classification Board. She has been designated PCOO Assistant Secretary for Social Media.
Uson, a staunch supporter of the President, has chosen to ignore her bashers and other “bitter” critics who have frowned on her appointment. She said she respects their opinion as part of the country’s vibrant democratic space.
(Genalyn D. Kabiling)
