Senate President Koko Pimentel rejected yesterday a plan of the Department of Justice to turn businesswoman Janet L. Napoles, alleged brains of the P10-billion pork barrel scam, into a state witness.
Pimentel, president of the PDP-Laban party, cited the conclusion of President Duterte that Napoles being turned into a state witness is not acceptable because she is not qualified to be such.
Pimentel, a Bar topnotcher, said Napoles, being the most guilty, does not qualify to be turned into a state witness.
He said it is not right to allow architect, engineer, and non-conductor of the scam to go scot free.
Thus, allowing Napoles to be turned into a state witness would be a clear case of injustice, he added.
