PLAYING WITH – The viewers of “Kapuso” channel may well play among the stars. They don’t have to fly to the moon, as the song goes, much less to Jupiter or Mars. But definitely up in the sky… among the stars.
We refer to “Kapuso” stars, topbilling the telefantasya “ Mulawin vs. Ravena,” which soars starting May 22.
Leading the star-studded cast are Dennis Trillo, Lovi Poe, Carla Abellana, and Regine Velasquez.
They recreate characters of the original “ Mulawin “ a decade or so ago, then starring Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin. It’ll be recalled that “Mulawin“ became a rage, especially among kids who bought those bird-inspired toys which flooded the market throughout the country.
Playing equally important roles in “Mulawin vs. Ravena” are Tom Rodriguez, Ariel Rivera, and GMA’s hottest young loveteams Derrick Monasterio and Bea Binene, Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali.
Also in the cast are Kiko Estrada, Angelu de Leon, Bobby Andrews, Jokodiaz, Charee Pineda and Nova Villa – all mortals.

ACTION DRAMA – The telefantasya boasts thrilling action scenes up there in the sky, but there are also down- to- earth dramas which teach subtle lessons in life – not for the birds – but for human beings.
“Mulawin vs. Ravena “ is some kind of sequel to “Encantadia,” GMA’s top primetime show with high production, star and story values directed by Dominic Zapata. Also at the helm of MVR is Dominic, so expect the same Class A soap.
The Mulawins are Valerie Concepcion, David Licauco, and Roi Vinzon.
The Ravenas are Chynna Ortaleza, Dion Ignacio, Winwyn Marquez, and TJ Trinidad.
As the flight of “Mulawin vs. Ravena “ takes place, expect more Kapuso stars to join the saga of birds and humans.
