Eduardo ‘Dodo’ Catacutan Jr., editor of SPIN.ph, has been elected as the new president of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA).
Catacutan, whose been into sportswriting for the past 29 years and previously worked for the Manila Times, People’s Journal, Bulletin, and the Hong Kong Standard, succeeded Riera Mallari of the Standard as head of the country’s oldest media organization.
He will be leading the PSA’s new set of officers that include Teddyvic Melendres of the Philippine Daily Inquirer (1st vice president), Aldrin Cardona of Daily Tribune (2nd vice president), Gerry Ramos of SPIN.ph (secretary), Jasmine Payo of the Philippine Daily Inquirer (assistant secretary), Joe S. Antonio of People’s Journal (treasurer), and Rey Virgilio Lachica of Tempo (auditor).
Philippine Star’s Lito Tacujan serves as chairman of the PSA Board with Ding Marcelo as adviser.
