BAE-BY Baste or Sebastian Benedict Granfon is going to school this year as the child star made his first endorsement of new bread line.
“I-e-enroll namin sya this school year. Para hindi na rin po kami mahirapan mag-coach sa kanya at nakakabasa na rin naman po sya,” said Sheila Granfon, mother of the child star, during the launch of their latest endorsement for NeuBake Super Slice by Gardenia in Quezon City recently.
Sheila said that shooting for Baste’s latest television commercial became a bonding session for her and her son.
“Easy siya maka-trabaho tapos tutulungan niya ‘ko. Nagtutulungan kaming dalawa para mabilis,” she said.
Baste is now a regular co-host in the longest-running noontime show “Eat Bulaga” on GMA-7 as he continued to wow television fans with his songs and antics.
But Sheila said that his son will decide for his future in “Bulaga.”
“Yung sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ naman po, kung ano ‘yung gusto ni Baste susuportahan namin s’ya,” she said.
Many may not know it but it was multi-awarded television host Jessica Soho, host of the weekly primetime magazine show “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” who discovered the four-year-old child star.
“Noong 2015, in-upload ng cousin n’ya ‘yung video ni Baste na nag-da-dubsmash. Unintentional lang po ‘yung pag-post.
Then na-discover s’ya ng mga researcher ni Jessica Soho. Tapos nakita rin sya ng mga executives ng ‘Eat Bulaga’ and naging positive ang feedback sa kanya. So praise God, nag-tuloy-tuloy na po ‘yun,” she said.
Sheila said that her son is also close to “EB” co-host Pauleen Luna as they eat together during the show’s break.
“Talagang pinaramdam nila sa amin na kahit bago pa lang kami, welcome talaga kami at open sila. Parang family kami.
Kinukuha ni Pauleen si Baste sa room at dinadala nya kila Bossing. Then sila na kumakain together. Si Mam Pauleen na rin po ang naglalagay ng food nya. Nakaka-touch ‘yung mga ganung nga tao na mataas marunong silang mag-alala kay Baste.”
Since then, Sheila said that the whole family has moved to Manila from General Santos City. “Naging independent na kami.”
Sheila also said that she and her husband have always taught their children the value of giving and sharing their blessings.
“We always tell our children to be humble. At his age, hindi alam ni Baste ‘yung word na humble pero kami pinapakita namin sa kanya on how to be humble and how to give kung meron ng konti,” she said.
Sheila also said that Baste is generous to his younger baby brother Sam Sam. “He’s very generous. There was a time may nagbibigay sa kanya at sabi nya ‘kay Sam Sam asan po?’ S’yempre nahihiya ako sabi ko ‘My gosh! Nanghihingi ka pa sa kapatid mo.’ Tapos minsan kung ano ‘yung natitira sa kanya, ‘yun ang kay Sam.”
Baste, who has more than one million followers on Instagram these days, loves to watch horror films like “Train to Busan.” His favorite food is grilled cheese sandwich.
