A clone of Jeff Horn arrived in the country over the weekend to help Manny Pacquiao get ready for their July 2 title fight in Brisbane, Australia.
George Kambosos, who also hails from Australia, immediately plunged into action and sparred with the Filipino star and the fast-rising lightweight was amazed with Pacquiao’s quickness and off-beat style.
It was Hall of Fame trainer who vouched for Kambosos, who believes that the 23-year-old is actually a better version of the equally-unbeaten Horn.
Now that Kambosos is in town, Pacquiao will have the luxury of rotating four fighters during thrice-weekly sparring sessions as there are already two local guys and Mexican Adrian Young working with Pacquiao.
“Pacquiao is fast and unpredictable,” said Kambosos, nicknamed ‘Ferocious’, and who was imported by Pacquiao adviser Mike Koncz.
With the cast complete, it’s going to be full steam ahead for the 38-year-old Pacquiao in the remaining four weeks of training.
Team Pacquiao plans to leave for Brisbane on July 24.
Pacquiao, who beat Jessie Vargas in his last outing last November, is the massive favorite to keep the world welter crown at the 55,000-capacity Suncorp Stadium.
