Tatlumput- apat na estudiyanteng tumakas mula sa bakbakan sa Marawi City ang tinanggap sa iba’t ibang public schools sa Manila.
Sinabi ng schools superintendent at Department of Education (DepEd)-National Capital Region officer-in-charge Wilfredo Cabral na kaya pang mag-accommodate ng public schools sa lungsod ng mahigit 100 pang transferees.
“Our schools have not yet reached their maximum absorptive capacity, meaning to say, kaya pang mag-accommodate, especially displaced children from Marawi,” pahayag ni Cabral.
Alinsunod sa kautusan ni DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, sinabi ni Cabral na pansamantalang niluwagan ng DepEd-NCR ang documentary requirements para sa enrollees mula Marawi hanggang sa katapusan ng kasalukuyang buwan.
Tiniyak ng city government at DepEd na ginagawa nila ang lahat para matulungan ang mga mag-aaral at ang kanilang pamilya na apektado ng giyera sa Marawi.
Sasailalim sa evaluation at psychological assessment ang 34 Marawi students.
“The reason why we’re identifying them is that we would like to know their psychological and mental state so we could find out what kind of assistance we can give to them,” Cabral explained. (Jaimie Rose Aberia)
