CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Police discovered several firearms, shabu and drug paraphernalia during a raid inside the house of ex-Marawi City Mayor Umpar Salic who was recently arrested for rebellion charges.
The search was conducted by a team composed of operatives from Martial Law Special Action Group (ML SAG), the army’s 4th Infantry Division, Criminal Investigation and Detention Group 10 (CIDG 10), and Police Regional Office 10 (PRO 10) among others.
Police Superintendent Lemuel Gonda, spokesman of the PRO-10, said the search warrant was issued by Judge Dennis Alcantar of Branch 18, Regional Trial Court which later on yielded an undetermined amount of shabu, three pieces of suspected cellophane shabu residue, 120 live ammunition, four pieces of M-203 high explosive, and one M-16 assault rifle which were all discovered inside the TV room of Salic’s residence.
Meantime, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) yesterday said that the Philippine flag will be raised in all parts of the conflicted Marawi City, Lanao del Sur on Independence Day whether or not the city would be liberated of terrorists. (Camcer Imam and Argyll Cyrus B. Geducos)
