A man wanted for theft and other crimes and his cohort were killed in a shootout with cops in Quezon City Thursday afternoon.
Police operatives shot dead Ferdinand Chiuco, 33, and his companion Wilson Nacpil, 19, when they resisted arrest in Barangay Manresa around 1:45 p.m., according to police report.
Prior to the shootout, members of La Loma Police Station were sent to serve an arrest warrant issued by the Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court against Chuico for a theft case.
Chuico, police said, was also involved in a number of motorcycle carnapping and robbery incidents in the city.
Intelligence reports said he was also a hired gunman and a drug pusher.
Twelve La Loma cops traced Chuico in Nacpil’s house on Biak na Bato Street in Barangay Manresa.
But upon arrival of the cops, the suspects reportedly started firing shots at the lawmen and later proceeded to the roof top of an apartment on Mauban Street.
La Loma police said they were forced to shoot back, killing the suspects on the spot.
They seized from Chuico and Nacpil two .38 caliber revolvers and a small sachet of shabu. (Vanne Elaine P. Terrazola)
