President Duterte remains healthy but opted to take a rest on Tuesday following his recent heavy schedule dealing with the Marawi conflict.
Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella gave an update on the President’s health condition after he skipped the traditional commemoration of the country’s Independence Day activities last Monday.
“The President is actually in excellent good health except for the fact that his schedules have been brutal,” Abella said in a Palace press briefing. “Today (Tuesday), he’s resting. It’s private time,” he added.
Abella said the President would have wanted to attend the June 12 celebration but needed to take some rest. Duterte was reportedly tired from his many visits to military camps, including the wake of soldiers killed in the fighting in Marawi City.
“You have to credit to the President considering everything that he has been actually honoring the military dead, civilian dead and he has been actually going around,” Abella said. (Genalyn Kabiling)
