Supt. Anthony Padua waxed hot from almost all angles and finished with 32 points, helping the PNP Responders notch their third win in four games to clinch a semis berth in the tournament organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon.
Equally impressive was Dexter Vitug who added 28 points.
AFP also clinched a semis berth with an 82-68 drubbing of Judiciary – thanks to Army Coronel Oliver Vesliño, Gen. Mel Feliciano, Col. William Gonzales, and Gen. Gener del Rosario.
Vesliño led AFP’s attack with 16 points, Felicino and Gonzales added 14 and 13 points, respectively, while Del Rosario chipped in 10.
Meantime, Senate, drawing inspired games from Lino Ong, Sen. Sonny Angaya and Warren Tan, kept its semis bid alive with an 88-67 crushing of Bureau of Customs.
With the win, Senate tied DOJ and Judiciary for third to fifth places with similar 2-2 records while eliminating Customs.
