Floyd Mayweather has the clear edge in his crossover clash with Conor McGregor, Manny Pacquiao said when asked about then circus-like Aug. 26 fight set in Las Vegas.
But Pacquiao, who dropped a decision to Mayweather more than two years ago, believes the unbeaten American will prevail since the fight will be held using boxing rules.
Still, Pacquiao isn’t certain whether fans would embrace the freak show.
“It’s up to the fans if they are going to patronize or see the fight,” said Pacquiao during a break in his training in General Santos City.
“But Mayweather has the advantage. McGregor is not a boxer,” added the eight-division titleholder, who is in the final stage of his buildup for the first defense of his world welterweight crown against Jeff Horn on July 2 in Brisbane.
In this fight, Pacquiao, like Mayweather, is the overwhelming favorite.
Unlike McGregor, who will make his boxing debut, Horn is a pure boxer with a 16-0-1 win-loss-draw record with 11 KOs.
