The Ombudsman has junked the treason and espionage charges filed against former President Benigno S. Aquino III and Sen. Antonio F. Trillanes IV.
A statement from Trillanes said a resolution, a copy of which was furnished the media, dismissing the case had been released by the Ombudsman.
The Ombudsman, in the 16-page resolution, said it “did not find probable cause for treason and espionage, and there was no evidence to prove that there was conspiracy between the Aquino and Trillanes as alleged by the complainants.”
The cases were filed in May last year by former Philippine National Police chief Director General Roberto T. Lastimoso, Dr. Enrico Sampang, former Judge and Commission on Elections Commissioner Moslemen T. Macarambon, former Rep. Ronald Adamat, and Dr. Dioscoro Esteban Jr. (Elena L. Aben)
