Creamline seeks its fifth straight win and the first semis berth when it goes up against the Power Smashers today in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Cool Smashers and the Power Smashers clash at 4 p.m. with the former out to cement their hold of the top spot.
Creamline, however, will be without Alyssa Valdez, who is currently in a training camp in Japan with the SEA Games-bound national team.
But Creamline coach Tai Bundit remains confident of their chances believing he has enough tools this time.
Aside from the versatility of setter Jia Morado, Bundit believes that Pau Soriano, Rosemarie Vargas, Ivy Remulla, and Francesca Racraquin can provide the numbers.
Soriano and Vargas vowed to double their efforts in Valdez’s absence.
The Power Smashers, who snapped their three-game skid with a tough 25-22, 16-25, 26-24, 23-25, 15-12 triumph to Perlas-BanKo over the weekend, will once again rely on Jovelyn Prado and Regine Arocha.
In the other match, University of the Philippines hopes to follow up its four-set victory over Adamson when it takes on Perlas-BanKo at 6:30 p.m.
Both UP and Perlas have similar 1-3 records.
Meanwhile, newcomer Mega Builders and Cignal TV tangle at 1 p.m. in a duel of unbeaten teams in the men’s side of the league backed by Mikasa and Asics. At stake is the first semis seat.
Air Force and Instituto Estetico Manila square off in the first match at 10 a.m.
