Sinampahan ng administrative charges kahapon ng Bureau of Customs ang tatlong Manila International Container Port (MICP) employees dahil umano sa pagtanggap ng suhol.
Kinumpirma ni Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon na pinatawan rin ng preventive suspension ang mga naturang empleyado habang sumasailalim sa investigation.
Napag-alaman na nakuhanan ng closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras ang tatlo habang tumatanggap ng suhol sa brokers.
Ayon kay Deputy Commisioner Gerardo Gambala, nadiskubre ng ahensiya ang katiwalian ng mga empleyado four months ago. Simula noon, minanmanan na sila nang husto.
Ang mga naturang empleyado ay nakitang tumatanggap ng pera mula sa brokers habang nagpa-process ng entries sa port, sabi ni Gabala.
Ayon sa mga opisyal, palihim na ibinibigay ang pera sa mga empleyado para mapabilis ang pag-release ng cargo.
