The Department of Justice (DoJ) is set to conduct a preliminary investigation on the criminal complaints filed against suspected drug lord Peter Lim and seven other drug personalities.
The DoJ will hold its first hearing on August 14 on the complaints filed against Lim and his co-respondents for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Apart from Lim, those named respondents in the complaint filed by the Philippine National Police (PNP) are self-confessed drug trader Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa who is already in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), convicted drug lord Peter Co who is already languishing at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), drug supplier Lovely Adam Impal, Marcelo Adorco, Max Miro, Ruel Malindangan, and Jun Pepito.
The DoJ has summoned the respondents to appear on August 14 and submit their respective counter-affidavits on the accusations against them.
The complaint has been assigned to Assistant State Prosecutors Aristotle Reyes and John Michael Humarang.
Meanwhile, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has placed Lim and his co-respondents in the Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO).
