In celebration of their 38th year on television, longest noontime running show Eat Bulaga! has announced their latest competition: Miss Millennial Philippines. Dubbed as the “pageant of this millennium for women of the 21st century,” the competition will feature ladies all over the country.
Over 30 provinces will compete, each with their own Ambassadresses to represent their locality. The pageant aims not only to showcase the beauties of each region, but also to promote their respective province’s culture and tourism.
“Ipapaalala nila sa atin na anuman ang nangyayari sa ating paligid – minsan may mga naririnig tayong hindi magandang balita – marami pa ring dahilan para mas lalo pa nating mahalin at ipagmalaki ang ating bansa!” host Vic Sotto said.
In partnership with the local tourism departments of the different provinces, Miss Millennial Philippines 2017 will feature several destinations around the country with each of the province’s representatives giving audiences a visual and more personal tour of their hometowns.
Winners of the pageant will take home cash prizes ranging from P50,000, P75,000, and P100,000 for the third, second, and first runners-up, respectively. The grand winner, on the other hand, will receive a whopping amount of half a million pesos alongside a brand new condo unit and a 2017 Mitsubishi Montero Sport.
The chosen “Bayanihan Queen” won’t be the only grand winner of the pageant though. Her province wins with her – the victor of the pageant will be given the chance to support a local project with a million peso fund to further develop it.
Eat Bulaga! officially made the pageant announcement during its July 22 episode while a grand launch was held the following week, July 29.
