Back from a two-week training with the national team in Japan, Alyssa Valdez wants to help Creamline in its semifinal clash with BaliPure in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference tomorrow at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.
But the two-time champion and three-time MVP in the UAAP remains doubtful if she would be allowed to play for her mother club by her coaches of the SEA Games-bound national team.
The former Ateneo star has signified her intention to suit up and help the Cool Smashers when she went straight to the team practice upon arrival from Japan Wednesdaynight following a 17-day training in Okayama and Osaka.
“She (Valdez) wants to play and will show up but she doesn’t know if she will be allowed to play,” said a league official.
Valdez missed Creamline’s last three games in the elims but the Cool Smashers held their ground and swept their last games to clinch the top seeding in the Final Four of the mid-season conference of the league organized by Sports Vision and backed by Mikasa and Asics.
They will meet the BaliPure Water Defenders, who beat the defending champion Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors in the last elims playdate to nail the fourth semis seat in the mid-season conference of the league organized by Sports Vision and backed by Mikasa and Asics. Gametime is at 4 p.m.
