Congressmen yesterday described President Duterte as the best, most caring Chief Executive the Philippines ever had after he signed the Free Tertiary Education Bill into law last Friday after just one year in office.
“Yes I agree that he is the best. He has a strong political will to go against the norms of bureaucracy and norms of bad politics,” House Dangerous Drugs Committee Chairman Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Barbers said.
Barbers said he “showed a strong resolve to deliver his promises to our people” in spite of the opposition from his economic advisers on the measure.
“The most caring President who walks the talk,” said Isabela Rep. Rodito Albano, a Commission on Appointments member of Duterte.
Quezon City Rep. Winston Castelo said that history will be the ultimate judge if Duterte is the best President the country ever had, but added that he does see it happening.
“History will judge it. But all indications point to it,” said Castelo, who chairs the House Metro Manila Development Committee. (Ellson A. Quismorio)
