LEGAZPI CITY – A suspected drug pusher was killed on Saturday evening in a shootout with police operatives who were serving warrants of arrest against him and his sister for their alleged involvement in the illegal drugs trade in Ligao City, the spokesperson of the Philippine National Police in Albay said yesterday.
Kinilala ng mga police ang namatay na suspect na si Marcelino Viterbo, alias “Lino,” married, at residente ng Barangay Tinago, Ligao City.
Police arrived at the house of Viterbo to serve a warrant of arrest against him and his sister Emma. Marcelino saw the cops arrive and returned to his house and took a gun.
He opened fire at the lawmen who returned fired. Viterbo sustained bullet wounds and taken to the hospital where he died, Chief Insp. Arthur Gomez, PNP Albay spokesperson, said.
Police collared the suspect’s sister Emma, 40, married, at her residence near her brother’s house.
Narecover sa bahay ni Marcelino ang .38 caliber revolver, nine sachets containing suspected shabu, two opened transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a white porcelain bowl containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, two foil strips, a glass tooter, a 9mm fired cartridge case, a knife, a cellular phone, a wrist watch, a ring, and R98 cash.
Sa bahay ni Emma, police found seven sachets of suspected shabu, seven opened transparent plastics sachets containing suspected shabu, four pieces of aluminum foil, two scissors, three improvised tooters, six lighters, 18 empty sachets, a big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, and 15 cellular phones.
