The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced yesterday that Roxas Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic to give way to the 50th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean)’s culminating activity on August 8.
Manny Miro, MMDA special operations officer, said Roxas Boulevard – from Padre Burgos to Buendia Gil Puyat southbound – will be closed to traffic from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday for the grand parade and lighting of the ASEAN lantern.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes: P. Burgos, Finance Road, Taft Avenue, Buendia, Roxas Boulevard or Macapagal or Diokno to destination.
To avoid being caught in traffic, motorists are also advised not to pass through the surroundings of Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
Only delegates, foreign ministries and guests attending the meeting are allowed to traverse.
