President Duterte will award policemen actively involved in the anti-drugs war and the crisis management in Marawi City in the Police Service Anniversary in Camp Crame, Quezon City today.
Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos, spokesman of the Philippine National Police, said the Chief Executive will personally honor five policemen who are actively involved in the ongoing gunfight with the Maute Group in Marawi.
They are Senior Supt. Rolando Anduyan, deputy regional director for operations of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police; Supt. Rex Arvin Malimban, deputy chief of the logistics division of the PNP-Special Action Force; Supt. Lambert Suerte, commanding officer of the Rapid Deployment Battalion of the PNP-SAF; SPO1 Erwin Garalde of the 84th Special Action Company of the PNP-SAF; and SPO1 Jethro Amengan, senior terrorist operative of the 83rd Company of the PNP-SAF Rapid Deployment Battalion.
“A full-dress parade and review ceremony at the PNP Grandstand will highlight the 116th Police Service Anniversary rites where President Duterte is expected to issue his policy directives and marching orders to the 190,000-strong PNP,” said Carlos.
Carlos said some police officials will also be cited for their active involvement in the campaign against illegal drugs.
They are Ozamiz City police director Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido for his role in the reduction of drugs use in Albuera, Leyte and Ozamiz; Director Oscar Albayalde, of the National Capital Region Police Office; Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino of the Central Luzon police; and Chief Supt. Mao Aplasca of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) police.
