President Duterte has accepted the difficulties in attaining a drug-free nation, saying the country’s enormous drug problem cannot be solved by a president in just one term.
The President has recognized that drug menace has “bogged nations,” including the United States, which has been fighting “a useless war that never ends.”
“Look, itong shabu and drugs, et cetera, cannot be solved by one man for a president for one term. It has bogged nations. Hindi nga kaya ng Amerika, tayo pa?” he said during a business forum in Mandaluyong City last Wednesday night. “America is under siege because of drugs. And they are far worse than us. Yes, of course, they do not admit it,” Duterte added.
He said US President Donald Trump has even copied his bold warning to “waste them all” amid the resurgence of opioid drug use in America.
“Until now, I said, they’re fighting a useless war there that never ends. And the sad part of it is that most of the drugs are provided by their good neighbors,” he said.
