The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has advised motorists to take note of alternative routes as several southbound and northbound roads in Metro Manila have been closed to give way to the weekend road re-blocking and repairs of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) until Monday morning.
In an advisory, the MMDA said the road re-blocking and repairs started 11 p.m. Friday and all affected roads would be fully passable by 5 a.m. Monday.
Southbound roads that would be affected of the road re-blocking and repairs in Quezon City include: Bonifacio Avenue between Mauban Street to Sgt. Rivera (outer lane); Mindanao Avenue after Tandang Sora fronting Shell (second lane); EDSA corner Roosevelt (second lane); E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue before and after Greenmeadows Avenue (first lane from center island); and E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue after Boni Serrano Flyover (truck lane).
The MMDA also noted that C-5 Road near Lanuza Avenue in Pasig City, still southbound, is also closed to public for the weekend repairs.
Meanwhile, three northbound roads in Quezon City were also closed for the repairs and re-blocking namely: C.P. Garcia Avenue from University Avenue to E. Jacinto Street (second lane); V. Luna Road from East Avenue to Kalayaan Avenue; and Quirino Highway corner La Mesa Dam Road (third lane).
The Mac Arthur Highway near Monumento Circle in Caloocan City and Manila East Road in front of SM East Ortigas in Pasig City were also closed to motorists until Monday for the road repairs and reblocking.
Motorists are advised to avoid the said areas and use alternate routes instead, the MMDA said.
