Reporter-TV host Atom Araullo has returned to GMA 7 as part of the network’s News and Public Affairs team.
“I’m very excited. Ang dami kong gustong gawin dito particularly in the realm of documentary production. I think this is a great place to do all of that,” said Araullo, who actually started his TV career as part of the Kapuso Network’s primetime newscast “24 Oras” via the segment “ATOMic Sports.”
GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon welcomed Atom’s return.
Naniniwala kaming mas lalo siyang mahahasa sa pagiging magaling na broadcast journalist at documentarist dito, among others,” said Gozon in a statement.
Araullo is excited to resume broadcasting duties on GMA 7.
I hope you join me on this new adventure,” he added.
Araullo graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.
He has earned several awards in the course of his career, including a bronze world medal at the New York Festivals Awards for his documentary “Warmer.”
The same documentary was also recognized at the 38th Catholic Mass Media Awards.
In May 2017, Araullo was hailed by the University of the Philippines Los Baños as Best Public Service Program Host for his work on “Red Alert.”
Araullo will make his acting debut in the upcoming film “Citizen Jake,” billed as the comeback movie of multi-awarded director Mike de Leon.
