Two-time defending champion Ateneo kept its three-peat bid alive yesterday by beating University of Santo Tomas, 22-25, 25-22, 31-29, 25-13, and clinching the second finals berth in the men’s division of the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
The top-seeded Eagles bucked a slow start and survived a thrilling third-set showdown to frustrate the Tigers in Game 3 of their best-of-three semis series.
With the win, the Eagles set up a title clash with the Far Eastern University Tamaraws who swept the National University Bulldogs in their own series.
The title clash is also a best-of-three affair.
