MISS Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is now a certified Kapamilya.
This after the third Miss Universe from the Philippines signed a two-year contract with ABS-CBN last Oct. 9.
“Maraming salamat ABSCBN sa tiwala. It took almost 8 months of communicating and finalizing everything. But it’s worth the wait. We are extremely happy and blessed indeed,” said beauty queen maker Jonas Gaffud of the Aces and Queens beauty camp, on his Instagram post.
In a separate post, Gaffud also said on IG: “Finally, our Miss Universe is now officially a Kapamilya. Just signed a two year contract with ABSCBN.”
Incidentally, Wurtzbach has been a Kapamilya since she was 14 years old under the screen name Pia Romero.
In those days, Wurtzbach only played supporting roles in teleseryes.
“I started with a five-year contract [in ABS-CBN] and I kept renewing lang every year, and then I stopped,” Wurtzbach told ABS CBN after she signed the contract.
“Iyon ‘yung nag-culinary muna ako and then I joined Binibining Pilipinas. When you join kasi Bb. Pilipinas, you’re not allowed to have any contracts, so I couldn’t come back to ABS-CBN. But now na tapos na ako sa pageant world, puwede na ulit,” she added. “I’m just happy to be back here.”
Wurtzbach said that she couldn’t believe she is now a Kapamilya.
“I can’t believe it, it’s actually happening already. This was a few months in the making… a few months of meetings and talks, and trying to figure out what I’m going to do with ABS-CBN. And finally, na-seal na lahat dahil nag-contract signing na kami,” she said.
Wurtzbach hinted at her forthcoming projects for the popular television network.
“There are a few movies in there and a few TV shows, but I can’t reveal just yet, para lang surprise. But we have very exciting stuff, and I really trust ABS-CBN that they know they’re going to put me in the right path,” she also said.
Wurtzbach is currently shooting ““Gandarrapiddo: The Revengers,” an entry to the 2017 Meto Manila Film Festival. It also stars ace comedian Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla.
