It’s most likely that many of you are not familiar with a record playing device called the turntable. It was widely used from the 1940s to the 1950s.
Each record has grooves on it that is timed to lyrics and tune of a set of songs. Once a stylus – the needle-like part of a turntable – comes in contact with the grooves, it sends vibrations to the amplifiers and music is played.
We found a vintage turntable set at the Dizon-Ramos Museum in Negros Occidental during a taping of Matanglawin TV recently.

Have you ever been to the Philippine Carabao Center in Nueva Ecija?
It was there where one can learn about the health benefits of carabao milk. We also discovered a unique flavor of ice cream.
Health wise, carabao milk has less cholesterol, more calories and calcium than the milk that comes from cows.
•
Another staple of the center is the Tilapia ice creamusing carabao milk. It was created by students of the Central Luzon State University by simply combining bits of tilapia fish with cheese, condensed milk, cream and carabao milk.
It struck gold at the SIAL Food Innovation Exhibit and is now on a worldwide tour from New York to Paris to Shanghai.
Surprisingly it doesn’t have any fishy aftertaste.
