Back for another tour of duty in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix, American spiker Lindsay Stalzer admits she’s still getting herself familiar with Tagalog.
But there’s no doubt that local volleyball fans are already accustomed to the prowess of the 6-foot-1 Stalzer, 33, who is the only ‘balik-import’ in a reloaded cast of touted reinforcements set to see action in the biggest-ever season-ending tournament.
“I’m embracing it,” said the former Bradley University standout of her latest task at hand as she suits up for the fourth time, this time carrying the colors of powerhouse Petron.
Known for her potent spiking and solid blocking skills, Stalzer initially suited up for Cignal in the 2014 edition then joined formidable Foton whom she steered to back-to-back Grand Prix titles, even bagging the MVP honors two years ago.
Stalzer is eager to reach the Promised Land anew and she’ll have to do it with the help of compatriot Hillary Hurley and Japanese libero Yuri Fukuda aside from top Blaze Boosters locals led by veterans Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Rhea Dimaculangan, Mika Reyes, and skipper Ces Molina.
