FROM Lebanon, the Miss Tourism Universe 2017 international beauty pageant arrived in Manila where the 10 semi-finalists from around the world were presented to the press in Makati City last Monday night.
Amelia Abarquez, Miss Tourism Philippines Foundation president and producer, announced that the international candidates who entered the semi-finals were delegates from Russia, Philippines, Ghana, Thailand, Lebanon, India, Nepal, Romania, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
The Miss Tourism Universe 2017 pageant started in Lebanon. Due to security reasons, the organizers of the beauty contest decided to stage the annual show outside of their headquarters. Organizers have also selected the semi-finalists in Lebanon before they flew to Manila.
Asked about the international pageant in Manila, Abarquez said: “They know that the Philippines is a pageant hub so they gave me the opportunity to host this international pageant. With your love, I hope that Miss Tourism Universe pageant will be known here and around the world.”
Sabine Nahas, of the Miss Tourism Universe Organization, thanked the Philippines for its warm reception to the international pageant despite short notice of three weeks.
The grand coronation of the Miss Tourism Universe 2017 will be held at the Tanghalang Pasigueño in Pasig City on Oct. 19.
