Film and TV actor Baron Geisler remained incarcerated after police learned about a standing warrant against the troubled actor filed down south.
Members of the Quezon City Police District Station 10 where Geisler is currently detained found an earlier arrest warrant filed by the Municipal Trial Court in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu against him.
The warrant, dated July 1, 2017, stated that the actor violated the Civil Aviation Law for allegedly smoking while inside a plane.
Geisler was said to be set to post bail and gain his temporary freedom but was later on prevented from leaving jail after the warrant in Cebu was discovered.
Earlier, Geisler was brought under the custody of Quezon City Police District Station 10 (PS-10) after they received a call about his violent behavior at the restobar Monday night.
It appeared that Geisler is already banned at the bar due to a previous trouble he caused.
According to Supt. Christian Dela Cruz, PS-10 commander, Geisler went to the bar at around 9 p.m.
The management said he seemed to be calm that they let him enter the establishment and drink.
Minutes later, Geisler allegedly started shouting at the guard and the customers, alarming the management and prompting them to seek help from the police.
When Geisler was brought to the station, he insisted that he did not create a scene at the bar.
He also started shouting and cussing, accusing the police of not following due process in arresting him.
Geisler is apparently facing charges on three complaints namely alarm and scandal, unjust vexation, and violation of Civil Aviation Law.
Aside from the outstanding P4,000 bail imposed on Geisler by the QC prosecutor’s office, he was also ordered to pay another P6,000 for his previous case.
Authorities said that they are waiting for a release order granted by the court for Geisler but clarified that he will not be able to leave until he has posted bail for all his three cases.
