Two Koreans were robbed Saturday night by a taxi driver, taking away $2,700; KRW 200,000; expensive gadgets, and jewelry in Malate, Manila.
The victims, Jong Ho Lee, 42; and Chon Man Park 38, failed to take note of the plate number of the taxi. They went to the Manila Police District – General Assignment and Investigation Section to report the incident.
According to them, the incident occurred at around 10 p.m. in Malate. They flagged down the taxi and asked to be transported to Pasay City.
While on their way, the driver pulled over in a dark and narrow alley.
Moments later, a man emerged from behind and held the two victims at knifepoint, forcibly taking their belongings.
The two later escaped from the taxi, leaving the rest of their possessions inside the compartment of the vehicle.
Police are still conducting follow-up operations to know the identity of the taxi driver and his cohort. (Glendel Nazario)
