AMADO CORTEZ – There’s a quick feedback on Highspeed’s item on showbiz clans. Colleague Vir Gonzales says that aside from Pempe Jr. and Carlos Padilla, there’s another brother. The late actor Amado Cortez who served as consul general (with the rank of ambassador) during the administration of Tita Cory (Cojuangco Aquino). His widow is Gloria Sevilla.
Amado was an award-winning actor and Quezon City councilor before Martial Law. Just like Mario Montenegro, Fred Montilla, Cielito del Mundo, Pepito Vera Perez.
