The Manila Police District (MPD) remains on high alert as it assured the public that the city is safe from terrorists, including foreign jihadists, who were earlier reported to have entered the country.
The city government and local police have forged a security arrangement with Manila’s Muslim enclaves wherein the local community and barangay leaders would immediately report the presence of suspicious individuals in their neighborhood.
“We are working closely, number one with our Muslim communities, especially in the Golden Mosque, Quiapo, and other communities in Baseco, and Sta. Mesa,” MPD director Joel Coronel said.
