LA Tenorio said he’s making good progress after undergoing elbow surgery a day after leading Barangay Ginebra San Miguel to its second straight PBA Governors’ Cup crown.
Tenorio went under the knife following Ginebra’s seven-game finals win over Meralco less than a month ago and is no longer wearing a cast that was visible during the team’s victory party shortly after the series.
The Finals Most Valuable Player recently underwent checkup and looks ready to participate without any hitch in Ginebra’s season-opening Philippine Cup preparation which starts next week.
“Naghe-heal naman siya and with the way I feel it, wala namang problema,” Tenorio said during the launch of the Nike Hyper Court last week at Kerry Sports in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
The surgery was long overdue with Tenorio describing that he had to deal with it the past five years.
After the surgery, Tenorio savored the fruits of his labor by traveling to the United States to watch NBA games.
He was at Madison Square Garden when the New York Knicks beat the Phoenix Suns before attending defending champion Golden State Warriors’ victory over the Philadelphia 76ers days later at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
Tenorio also visited the Nike Headquarters in Portland as part of an endorsement trip and was part of the studio attendance during taping of the Ellen DeGeneres show in Burbank, California.
“Although kailangan alagaan ko yung elbow ko, overall sobrang nagenjoy ako. After yung isang taon na pinaghirapan ko, nagawa ko namang magbakasyon ng two weeks,” he said.
Tenorio plans to have one more R&R with his wife and children before beginning preparation for the upcoming season which opens next month.
