Senators are shocked and angry over the decision of the Department of Justice to clear former Bureau of Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon as well as other former and current government officials in connection with the smuggling of P6.4-billion worth of shabu into the country last May.
Sen. Richard J. Gordon, chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee that investigated the smuggling case, said he would soon submit to the Ombudsman a copy of his committee report so that it could moto proprio investigate the criminal charges against Faeldon and company.
“I am serving notice to the Ombudsman to take the (Faeldon) case,” Gordon said.
