FAMILY – The currently showing “Trip Ubusan: The Lolas vs. Zombies” is billed as comedy, family comedy in particular.
Yes, it’s important to emphasize family comedy as like most grandmas, the three Lolas of TV and movie fame, impart nuggets of wisdom in the guise of humor. No pontificating or preaching but more of “soft-selling.”
The three Lolas of “Trip Ubusan” are of course Lola Tinidora (Jose Manalo), Lola Nidora (Wally Bayola), and Lola Tidora (Paolo Ballesteros).
Beneath the flamboyant costume, make-up, and hairdo are wise and caring Lolas who, in “The Lolas’ Beautiful Show” and “Eat Bulaga!” on GMA, never fail to teach lessons on family values and love, which of course they also do in “Trip Ubusan.”
What a witty movie title…if not really original.
•
SUSPENSE – As the title suggests, the three Lolas fight zombies who threaten to harm their granddaughter Charmaine (Caprice Cayetano) and other terrified youngsters: Marcy (Ryzza Mae Dizon), Irish (Taki Saito), Aladin (Kenneth Medrano), Cath (Shaira Mae de la Cruz), Will (Miggy Tolentino), Melo (Jayvhot Galang).
Yes, there’s suspense – thrill and excitement – in “Trip Ubusan,” also featuring Angelika de la Cruz, Arthur Solinap, Lovely Abella, and the special participation of Rochelle Pangilinan, Joshua Zamora, Niño Muhlach, Al Tantay.
Are the combined forces of the three Lolas strong enough to defeat the Zombies?
•
IN CASE – Just in case people have forgotten, the three Lolas played a big part in the phenomenal popularity of AlDub (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza) in the KalyeSerye of “Eat Bulaga.”
Directed by Mark A. Reyes V and jointly produced by APT Entertaiment and M-Zet Productions.
