Bimby Aquino Yap, son of basketball star James Yap and television-movie personality Kris Aquino, debuted as a co-host of her mom in an informal interview with Kapamilya star Kim Chiu who stars in the horror-flick “The Ghost Bride.”
The video clip, which already garnered more than 300,000 page views, showed Kim being interviewed by Kris who sponsored a block screening for the Chito Roño movie. Joining them was Bimby who sat next to Kim.
Kim said the movie was shot in Nepal.
Bimby reacted: “Big budget. True. Can I say my estimate mom? P700 million.”
Kris said that “The Ghost Bride” brought out the best in Kim. “It was not reliant on a partner. This was Kim Chiu being Kim Chiu.”
“Ang babae naha-higlight sa movie n’ya talaga. At ang heroine talaga babae,” Kris added.
“I was reading the reviews before coming here na maganda ’yung effects pero ang lalong nagdala sa ganda nung movie ’yung consistency ng acting. But Bimb she has no pores,” said Kris.
Bimby told his mother: “You don’t have pores. And you’re 46. You don’t have pores mom.”
The 10-year-old boy asked Kim: “Why did the ghost protect you? And why did you fight them? You’re so mean to them. They protected you.”
Then Kris asked Bimby: “Would you do that? Sacrifice for your family?” “For you,” said Bimby.
Kris recalled what Bimby told her. “If you want me, if you want an arranged marriage for me, I’ll say yes. But she has to be hot, smart and pretty.”
Bimby said: “Yeah!”
Kris said: “Hindi naman talaga ako papayag na hindi s’ya hot, smart and pretty. Hello?”
For Kim, shooting for “The Ghost Bride” was memorable.
“Ito yung unang movie ko na bawal akong tumawa. As in never akong nag laugh sa entire movie,” Kim said. “Half the movie wala na akong make-up. So parang pupunta na lang ako sa set wala ng blower.”
Kris reacted: “Wala kang make-up? Powder?” Kim said, “no.”
Bimby reacted: “No. There’s powder of course mama. I’m sure there was a little bit. Like a dab.”
Kris laughed and said: “Let’s believe her when she says wala talagang powder.”
Bimby said: “Okay. I really have Kris Aquino blood.”
Kris said that she enjoyed watching the movie. “Nandun ’yung lahat ng elements ng gulat na hinahanap ko pag nanunood ako ng horror.”
“Cursed objects,” Bimby added.
Kris also said that she prayed to Padre Pio for Kim to find a true and everlasting love. “Kasi ayaw namin ng hindi supportive sa’yo. Yun lang.”
She also urged the Chinita Princess to experiment at this point of her career because “this is the time when you can do all roles.”
Bimby advised Kim: “Accept all the roles but don’t be bastos. Let your wings fly.” (Robert R. Requintina)
