AMA University got huge game from Adrian Magada and Coleng Garcia and stunned San Beda College, 62-57, in the 19-under class division of the Manila Brotherhood Basketball League Association, Inc. school division held over the weekend at the Trinity University of Asia Gym in Quezon City.
Magada and Garcia scored 16 points each while Airness Alao added eight in leading the Titans to a second straight win in the tournament organized by the Brotherhood Basketball League (BBL) headed by its president Erick Kirong of Macway Travel.
For a while, the Red Lions looked headed for a routine win but self-destructed in the payoff period – no thanks to AMA’s pressure defense and sleek running game.
Makaulley Williams led the Lions with 18 points.
In the other 19-under match of the tournament sponsored by COCOLIFE, Macway Travel and Prince Sports Apparel, Arellano Unversity survived Arandia College, 80-68, in tense and physical game.
Fourth Pack Basketball Club shocked favorite La Salle Antipolo, 53-47, in the 17-under category while San Beda’s 13-under dominated Rich Golden, 67-43, while San Beda Cubs clobbered Hot Shots, 74-35.
