The Bureau of Customs has seized overstaying luxury cars and misdeclared steel products worth P24.2 million that arrived at the Manila International Container Port.
The luxury cars consigned to different persons were a 2012 Lamborghini Glardo, a 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago, and a 2005 Ferrari F430.
The 2012 Lamborghini Glardo was consigned to a certain Allan Garcia of Dolores St., Perpetual Subdivision, Paligui, Apalit, Pampanga; the 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago was consigned to a certain Veronica Angeles of 385 Sampaloc, San Rafael, Bulacan; and the 2005 Ferrari F430 was intended for a certain Mary Joy Aguanta of Block 5, Lot 33, Phase 1-A, Villa Trinita, Cagayan de Oro City.
Lapena said the luxury cars were seized due to overstaying in the container yard of the International Container Terminal Services Inc.
The shipments that came from the United Arab Emirates arrived some time in 2016 and May 2017.
The shipments of steel products from China consigned to Hongtaisheng Steel Inc. and Australia consigned to a certain Dorotea Sadang were held due to discrepancy in weight and misdeclaration as personal effects and household goods.
