A 72-year-old businessman was found dead with multiple stab wounds in the chest inside his condo unit in Pasay City over the weekend and police are considering his young girlfriend as one of the persons of interest.
Senior Superintendent Dionision Bartolome, Pasay police chief, identified the victim as Rolando Abesamis of Room 1614 Park Avenue Mansion on Park Avenuein, Barangay 81, Zone 10. The victim operated a business which provides service for installation of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, he added.
Abesamis’ decomposing body was found by his younger brother, Antonio, inside the condo unit on November 25.
Police said it appeared that Abesamis was killed between 4:19 a.m. to 6:34 a.m. on November 19, or six days before his body was found. He sustained multiple stab wounds in the left portion of the chest.
Bartolome confirmed that Abesamis’ 26-year-old girlfriend, a certain “Everlou,” and her brother “Rolly,” who just got out of a drug rehabilitation center recently, have already been considered persons of interest.
In his sworn statement, Antonio said that Everlou and Rolly frequently stayed, and even slept at the condominium unit of his brother. They were the last persons believed to have last accompanied Abesamis before he died, police said.
A security guard (name withheld for security purposes) of the condominium building saw “Sir Rolly” drove the gold Honda Accord motorcycle (UJX 504) of Abesamis around 6:34 p.m. of November 19. This was confirmed by a closed circuit television (CCTV) footage at the condo building.
The Pasay police chief said they are eyeing “inside job” as possible motive behind the incident “due to the absence of forced entry to the main door of the condo unit.”
