Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found stuffed in a sack near a creek in Novaliches, Quezon City, Tuesday morning.
Investigators of the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) said the victim was in his late 20s, 5’5” to 5’7” tall, and was wearing white shirt and maong pants.
Witness Reynaldo Laceda told police that he was cutting grass near a creek at Jose Abad Santos, Barangay Sta. Lucia, Novaliches, Quezon City, around 10 a.m. when he noticed flies swarming a sack dumped near the creek.
When he checked its content, he was shocked to discover the body of a man, his head wrapped with a blanket.
Laceda immediately informed his neighbors and sought the help of barangay authorities.
Police said the victim’s body was already in early stage of decomposition when found with a cloth stuffed inside his mouth, an electric wire looped around his neck, lacerations on the left foot and a mutilated left thumb.
Police officers also recovered a R100 bill inside the right pocket of the man.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing to establish the identity of the victim. (Alexandria San Juan)
