BAGUIO CITY – The Department of Tourism (DoT) in Cordillera has launched its “Bring home a friend” program as part of the 68th Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament, considered the longest-running amateur golf competition in the country.
Bayani Malicdem, DoT – Cordillera tourism officer, said the tourney, part of the sports tourism program of the DoT in Cordillera, is quite appropriate for the program, which is aimed at encouraging locals to invite friends from overseas to visit the country between October 15, 2017 to April 15, 2018.
“We expect great numbers from here and abroad participating in the program,” he said.
Exciting prizes await those who join the program via www.bringhomeafriend.online.
Up for grabs for invitees are free trips to Palawan, Davao or Cebu.
The host, meanwhile, could bring home a brand new car or P200, 000 worth of Duty Free gift certificates. Then there’s also the chance of winning a condominium unit in Magallanes, Makati.
Malicdem explained the program is part of DOT’s effort in boosting its target of six million arrivals for 2017.
The 68th Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament will run up to Dec. 16 at Camp John Hay and at the Baguio Country Club.
Roanne Galicia, competition secretariat, said 240 teams have signed up for this year’s competition.
Actual action begins tomorrow, starting with the senior division.
