The Eastern Police District (EPD) deploys today lady bike patrollers to rove the roads of the eastern part of Metro Manila.
Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula, EPD director, said they launched the “Lady Bike Patrollers” to promote “gender equality and women empowerment.”
“I believe that women are very capable, and they can also do what men can. As such, they are very loving and approachable to all. I am very hopeful that their deployment on the streets of eastern metro will bring peace and order,” Sapitula said.
He said that the deployment of the women police officers is very timely since the holiday season is at hand.
“The Lady Bike Patrollers will begin to patrol Tiendesitas, Ortigas Avenue, cor E. Rodriguez (C-5) in Pasig City.
Also, in the cities of Marikina, Mandaluyong, and San Juan, the similar endeavor will also be done within their respective territorial jurisdiction to further intensify the anti-criminality campaign and maintain peace and order within Metro East,” the EPD director added.
